BedRot is a movie and television discovery platform that brings together browsing, watchlist management, episode tracking, and community discussion in one clean interface. All media metadata — posters, backdrops, synopses, cast, ratings, and release dates — is provided by TMDB.

Browse & Discover

The home page features a hero carousel of the week's top trending movies, alongside curated rows for new releases, trending now, and top-rated titles across both movies and TV shows. Each item displays key details at a glance — rating, year, genre, and overview. Dedicated Movies and Shows pages offer a full catalog with all categories in one place. The search bar lets you find any movie or TV show by title with instant results, including the ability to filter by type and view detailed information.

Details & Media

Clicking any movie or show opens a full-screen modal with complete metadata: synopsis, runtime, release date, genres, production companies, budget, revenue, cast and crew, and trailer links. TV shows include a season-by-season breakdown with episode lists.

Watch

Each movie and TV show has a Play button that opens the watch page. The player interface includes metadata panels, and for TV shows, a season and episode selector to jump between episodes.Disclaimer: BedRot does not host, store, or serve any video files. Lists & Watchlists

Your profile serves as a personal media hub. Add any movie or TV show to your list with a status — Watching, Plan to Watch, Completed, On Hold, or Dropped. Filter your collection by type (movies or TV shows) and status. Each list entry shows progress and can be removed at any time. The watch page syncs automatically: mark episodes as watched and your list entry updates to reflect your progress.

Community Forum

The forum is a space for anonymous discussion. Browse topics organized by category — News, General, Recommendations, Questions, and Media. Sort by latest, top, or trending. Create new posts with text and optional images or GIFs. Vote topics up or down. Reply to any post with threaded, nested comments (up to six levels deep) that include image and GIF support. Every participant gets a consistent, automatically generated anonymous name — no account needed beyond a simple sign-in to prevent spam.

Authentication

Sign in with your Google account to access the forum, create posts and replies, vote, manage your personal watchlist, and track watched episodes. Sign-in is quick and lightweight — your profile is created automatically on first login.
